Make Zelda's ocarina out of a carrot

Sep 24, 2009 02:03 AM

From Japan hails this magical man and his homemade ocarina. First, this loveable vegetable musician plays "Song of Time", from the video game Zelda: Ocarina in Time, with perfect pitch and clarity. The catch, of course, is rather than a gourd pan flute or even a Nintendo, Mr. Heita uses a carrot.

Mr. Heita has enjoyed a bit of fame as a veggie flutist. His music videos have been featured on Korean, German and US television, as well as the front page of YouTube (twice).

This garden fresh flute is hand carved. Let Mr. Heita show you exactly how to make your own veggie flute from scratch. Thanks to some clever subtitling, our friend was able to translate his Japanese language video into English. We're grateful to have his first hand instruction to accompany his many wonderful vegetable instrument videos.
